Illustration - Bagheera

Medium: water colour, on water paper

While in transit to our new house Bagheera, my 'fur child' stayed in a cattery. I missed him, and painted him while pining for him.

No.16 - Draw a favourite tool

This is a watercolour brush. I rate it. It fills with water, it never leaks, and so I can paint any where. Its really hard to explain how fabulous it is, so here is a link to the makers site. Aquash Water Brush

I thought I'd be patriotic and draw Australia's national food. Yummy. My favourite breakfast is poached eggs on toast with Vegemite spread on top.

Tickles my fancy - Fontaine Anderson

I'm in love, again. This time with the work of an illustrator from my home town, Adelaide, South Australia. Fontaine Anderson, 25 years old,  studied at the University of South Australia in 2004. In her own words she is "inspired by dreams, Japanese textiles, Egyptian gods, (and) 1980’s clip art"

What first catches my eye is the softness of her work, so feminine. The detail of the stitch like line work and the subtle use of colour are hypnotic. She also has a love of cats, and the feline illustrations in her portfolio are adorable.

This is my teddy bear, from my childhood. His name is Pooh Bear. As a child I had a story book about Pooh Bear, and to my delight the sign above his door was my last name.
